D is for...
stories of a trauma & kidney transplant survivor...and thriver

Introduction: D is for... Dawning Destiny
“I am forty-five years old. I am six months old. These are simultaneous truths.”
You see, I was gifted a new life on July 24, 2025, the date of my life-saving kidney transplant. And now my newly anointed kidney rebirthday.
“You are going to help so many people by going through what you’re about to go through. You’re going to do great things,” said my best and fiercest friend Elisa.
I hope I do. These stories are my attempt. This is my dawning destiny.

1. D is for... Delayed, Drunk & Denied
"I am a victim of childhood trauma. I am a survivor." I start at this childhood place and space...Why? Because my kidney failure wasn't an occurrence unto its own, nor solely physical.

2. D is for…Descendant of Dis-ease
I am an heiress of generational trauma. (To be released soon...) I am a descendant of dis-ease. Which means that I am, above all, the daughter of women warriors.
